The best definition of low vision comes from the University Eye Institute
Center for Sight Enhancement: "Low vision is the term used to describe a
permanent loss of vision which is not corrected with conventional spectacle
prescriptions, contact lenses, surgery or medications."
How we can help you
We provide individualized solutions for people who are experiencing vision loss.
This process begins by meeting with our optometrist who will perform an evaluation
to determine your vision needs, with emphasis on your functional problems and
improving your daily living skills. You will work with Dr. Fleming and her staff
to set vision goals – from being able to continue working to simply enjoying
movies and television.
Once your needs are determined and a course of treatment is prescribed,
you will work with our Low Vision Technician to find which low vision devices
can help you attain your goals. The technician will also train you in the use
and maintenance of your device so you can have it in best condition for as long as possible.
